Kou is interested in the talented ones, not minding which side they are on in the ongoing fight. Others don´t really grasp his criterias, still he is undeniably one of the strongest and wittiest persons around. His detached demeanor isn´t welcomed by many and though he had a crush on his fellow bodyguard Shiosai it never developed into something since she didn´t know nor care.
Ame is a silent, observing character who was sold and believes to work his ass off to be free one day. Along the way, he feels its empty words and decides to just do things in his favor. When Kou and the others invade the place of his employer he lets them pass, more or less freely. Only Kou stays behind since he finds it suspicious and fights him, both not really taking it serious. Still, Kou feels the talent and develops an interest in Ame. After everything is up and done with, he asks him to join him in his ranks of bodyguard.
