Just an Update

Wow... It's eerily quiet around here. :(

Anyway, it's been a while since I've written one of these.

Can't believe June's already almost over -- and the year's already half-over -- but I'm glad for a bit more sunshine and the just-right temperatures. In trying to get a bit more exercise, I'm taking walks on my breaks at work, so the nicer weather means I'm walking outside. There are lots of trees around the building where I work, and there are a couple particular flowering trees that smell really good. ^^ Don't know what the trees are called, but I really like them.

Basically, work's going well, and I'm not up to much new outside of that. I'm still trying to get out of my writing rut that I've realized I've actually been dealing with for more than a year now. I finally got my Eternal Rain (main arc) rewrite to a point where I figured I'd done all I could without some fresh eyes on it, so I printed out the first couple chapters and have been bugging my family to read it. XD (From the first review, it sounds like I've still got a lot of work to do. XD) Writing on anything else has pretty much stalled. This is just me trying to sort out my thoughts "on paper," so to speak; so, I'm not complaining, really, and don't take this with too much concern. But honestly, I think part of it is a problem with me. Maybe everybody goes through this to some extent, and I guess I'm a bit late, but I feel like I'm in a spot where I'm just stuck as I watch the people around me getting married, having kids and making all those big, adult decisions that I'm too scared of change to think about. Anyway, the point is that all this self-doubting and indecision seems to be affecting my writing, too. I can't decide how I want to finish any new project that I try to start, so I wind up with a bunch of half-finished ideas, and it's really frustrating. Thus, I'm happy to be making some progress with Eternal Rain, at least.

On the art side, I'm still drawing here and there when I have the time and the inspiration is flowing. I've been wanting to color traditionally again, but the art store where I was buying my Prismacolor markers closed! T.T Michael's and those type of craft stores don't have as much selection, and even my other local art store's selection was a very sad sight to behold. I can't find the less common colors in my collection that are in danger of running out of ink. (The tangerine color that I use for Shiori's hair, for instance, is nowhere to be found.) Do I have no choice but to shop for these online? *sigh* I'm hoping that an art store a bit farther out has a better selection, but I've yet to check it out.

Anyway, I hope all of you are well and enjoying your summer. Congrats to all the grads out there! :D
