What I Like About: Code Lyoko

What I Like About:
Code Lyoko

The role that nostalgia plays in my experience, and possibly the experience of other people, is becoming a bit more apparent now. I’m not exactly sure how I am going to do this, or if I am going to continue it, but here is the context of this FOF that has been sitting in the back corner of my mind for months and maybe years:

I feel as if I’m in the midst of a powerful existential crisis right now. I’m about to graduate college and I’m sitting on pins and needles to find out what my job is going to be. I missed the chance to get my “Dream Job” or my #1 pick earlier this year…My #2 pick and my #3 pick have drastically different implications about what my future is going to look like. This has me questioning so many different things about my life—namely my worth. Beyond knowing what my future is going to look like, I’ve also been pondering on the past and trying to come to terms with some of the major life events that I have experienced and evaluating their impact on my present and my future.

And what does one do when they are in the throes of a crisis of meaning? If you’re me, it means you start reflecting on your childhood and start looking back at the things you used to enjoy. On the way down Nostalgia Road you come across a show or a book or a game or an artbook that you remember investing so much time in. For me, and for the purpose of this FOF, I’m going to talk about “Code Lyoko.”
