Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

The Eternal Dilemma

I'm feeling inspired to draw, but I don't want to continue the 43681045019 art projects I have started. I want to draw something new. But what? I have no idea. At least I now know why my art output has been so low this year.

Don't you just love when this happens?

I Did Something Super-Gutsy

Last week, I posted a link to my old fanfiction.net account for all my coworkers to see. In my defense, it was in the "social" channel of our Slack and I was off the clock when I did it. One of my coworkers read it immediately and burst out laughing multiple times.

Hey, know what? I'll link my FFN profile on theO. Just be aware that I haven't updated since I was 19. And I was a bit too obsessed with Naruto in that point in my life. Anyway, carve this into your eyeballs!

Starting Arting

I know "arting" isn't a word. I just thought it would be cute to make a rhyming title. I'm so not funny.

At the place where I work, there are a lot of people who like to do artistic stuff (which has nothing to do with our jobs). So, we formed a little after-work art club. A lot of us had the same goal: we all wanted motivation to draw more.

I actually sketched something that day! It was the main character in the story I've been planning for, like, three years. If you're wondering, no, I haven't made any progress with the actual story.

Speaking of my stories, I wrote a little bit more of Destination. I know it's a corny story, but there was something very therapeutic about writing it. The story arc that I'm writing is drawing to a close, but it ends on an uncertain note, and I have yet to write that part. I just want my OCs to catch a little break before I torture them again.

It's so weird juggling three-- or possibly four-- stories. Sometimes I feel like writing one. Sometimes I want to draw characters from another. Most of the time, I just think about them and try to develop them.

What I'd love to do is make a webcomic. I just don't know which story I could adapt to that format. Plus, I lack the artistic skills. And the time management skills.

Just to end this post on a positive note, I started digitally sketching a pair of album cover parodies. I hope I get them done soon because I can't wait to present them here.

A Warning to theO (BIG UPDATE)

Updated 4/25/18

There is a spammer/thief lurking about theO. And some of you are subscribed to her. Please don't feed her fire. Because I don't want to break theO's rules, I can't say her usernames (she has two active accounts and 40+ frozen ones), but I can describe her mannerisms and "her art". She sticks out like a sore thumb, so you'll be able to recognize her.

The pictures that she posts are usually stolen from DevaintART users. She tends to resize those pictures and puke on them with MS Paint. Then she pours a bucket load of digital glitter on them. Sometimes, she adds a loop of text which, when legible, makes no sense.

Now that eCards have retired, she's been making wallpapers for upcoming holidays. Usually, it's just a pixelated image with a calendar of the current month slapped on.

The comments she makes on her cards are usually, "Thanks [username]" or "Commission 4 [username]". Lately, she's been obsessed with the word "commission" and the non-word "colabission". Other times, she tells users what "your" a fan of, whether it's true or not.

Her favorite subject matter:

  • Children's TV shows
  • Sega games (Sonic, Klonoa, and the like)
  • Shoujo anime
  • Chii from Chobits
  • Characters that she paints over to look like Chii from Chobits
  • Characters sticking their feet out
  • Characters tied up and getting their feet tickled
  • Characters sucking on each other's feet
  • Characters sucking on each other's feet while naked (poorly censored with pictures of pajamas, of course)
  • Furby toys

Usually, "her art" starts of more-less innocent, but escalate to the fetishist junk as time goes on.

Over the years (yes, years), I've PMed Adam several times about her behavior. It eventually got to a point where I asked him to block her IP address. He did so, but he also warned me that there are ways around the block. And guess what? The spammer came back the very next day.

It seems that there's no way to get rid of her. The only thing left I can think of is to ignore her and hope she goes away. That means unsubscribing, removing her spam from your favorites, and not commenting on anything that she posts. I know you're only trying to be polite when you give her attention, but it's only encouraging her bad behavior.

If you want a list of all her usernames that she's gone under, you can PM me.

Thank you for your time.

BIG UPDATE: Adam made me a mod in order to delete the stolen works. I have deleted all her wallpapers on her two active accounts, as well as some of her lingering spammy comments (and links to direct downloads) from a few of her banned accounts. The only downside to this is that I can't modify her eCards or outright ban her. The good news is that she hasn't been back since I deleted the wallpapers. My guess is that she gave up, but I'm not holding my breath.

Apology for No Livestream This Weekend

Anyone interested? I can do it tonight or tomorrow night. Tonight would be most likely though.

I'm planning on doing several things that I would like some feedback on. They involve character design, anatomy, and/or coloring.

I'll be using Picarto.

Update: Due to lack of interest, I'm not going to do it tonight. If you guys want me to host one tomorrow, just leave a comment.

Update part deux: I'm soooooooooooooooooooo sorry that I didn't stream last night. Stuff happened, and it took up a lot of my time yesterday. Please accept my apology.
