Across the World [poem]

Across the World

Even through all the journeys we had
A part of me is still sad
To see how much things had to be changed
Oh, how the world now seems so strange

The world, which we’re only a small part of
Feels so far away when we’re alone
Across the world, though
I believe there is something more…

Across the world we’ve walked, not find anything
A thousand nights over and over again
While like a puzzle, the rain falls down
Filling in bottomless gaps across the world

Somewhere, is there someplace
That doesn’t make us seem so small, insignificant?

We wait to see each other again
Until life repeats itself, and the gaps overflow
Just as history does, flooding the entire world
But I won’t let it stop us making new memories

Across the world we reach
Across the world, our journeys meet their end
Maybe change won’t be so bad, for there’s more to be had
I smile now, seeing that even across the world

Things should change for the better good
Across the world, but only if we believe
We won’t be so small, so insignificant
Oh, together we’ll make a difference across the world

Defying the floods, the tears, the pain
We will meet each other, even if we’re across the world

End
