The Babysitter

I had never babysat before, but this was my first time. Thank God it wasn’t someone that I didn’t know, it was my best friends little brother and two sisters. I was pretty nervous, but as I pulled into the driveway, I was getting even more nervous. I walked out of the door, and made my way to the door. I took a deep breath and knocked.
“Hey Maddie, come on in,” Betty said hurriedly as she opened up the door. I walked in, and looked around the house. It seemed like a pretty nice place, but I heard the kids yelling and running around, and my stomach churned. What if I couldn’t do this? What if it was just too hard?
“VADE! ALICIA! DANI! Get in here right now!” I heard them all laughing, and their feet came stomping in the living room where Betty and I were. “Be formal please,” She said to them as they finally stood still. They all stood next to each other.
“This one is Vade,” She pointed to the boy that had red curly hair, and a face covered in freckles. His clothes didn’t match, and he had socks on, both having holes in the heels. He had some chocolate on his face, and he was too occupied to notice me because he was playing with a gameboy.
“That’s Alicia, and the other one is Dani.” The two little girls were complete opposites. Alicia had long curly red hair, wearing a blue dress, and shiny black flat shoes with a buckles on them. She seemed like the cleanest kid, which was good for the both of us. Dani, on the other hand, was a total tomboy. She had short red hair with glasses and braces. She had on baggy blue jeans and a bright orange t-shirt with some dirt on it, and the dirt was on her sneakers as well. “We should be back by ten, try to get them in bed by 9:30 if you can. They aren’t too hard to handle… but anyway, heres half now, and you get the rest when we get back.” Maddies boyfriend Thomas came down the stairs while he was throwing his leather jacket on. He said hey to me, and then they both left.
I turned to face the kids, but they were already gone. I heard them in the kitchen rummaging through the fridge. I followed them and Dani and Vade were playing, while Alicia was playing with a couple barbies. I walked up to her. “Hey Alicia, have you all had dinner yet?” She bent her head down shyly, and murmured yes. I looked over and Dani and Vade kept running around with Metal bowls on their heads. “Do you all play together?” She shook her head no, and continued to play with her barbies. Both Dani and Vade ran out of the kitchen and ran upstairs. I decided to grab a quick drink, but before I even made it to the sink, I heard a crash come from upstairs and laughter. I told Alicia to stay where she was and made my way upstairs. I looked down the hall, and I seen a door fly open.
Dani comes out of the bathroom with toilet paper dangling from her waistband, and Vade swinging around the plunger. I told them to stop, but they just ran past me, and made their way downstairs. I was really hoping their was no poop on that plunger.
I could tell this was going to be a long night.
