A Rare Opportunity Accomplished

In the Montreal island (where I live) these days, finding anime-related T-shirt items on store shelves can be a tough task (unless perhaps the items are based on Hello Kitty and the U.S./Japan co-production animated series Transformer...

Montreal ToyCon on 11/03/2013

As we near the arrival of the Fall weather season, we know it means we are nearing the arrival of weather-wearing-us-down months. Well, at least there's one outdoor event in Montreal that should build up the enthusiasm for the Fall when it comes: the Montreal ToyCon Fall 2013 edition. It's scheduled to happen at the Courtyard MARRIOTT Montreal Airport (7000 Place Robert-Joncas Ville St-Laurent, QC). So if you're a hobbyist living in Montreal or are a hobbyist not living in Montreal but plan on going there in November for vacation, I recommend you check it out.

Decades of Anime May Not Get Colored

Lasy year, I mentioned that I wanted to do Decades of Anime, a fan art series covering the past five decades of anime history. Well I forgot to mention that although I wanted to color it on GIMP after completing the outline, I could not get it done in time for submission for art gallery showing at Otakuthon 2013 (which already hapened in mid-August) because my computer was experiencing problems that needed to be repaired at a store. On a more problematic note, although I am planning to show each installment here at theOtaku.com and deviantART, with a busy schedule of obligations in my life to start take placing soon, there is a chance I may not find the time to work on a colored version per installment (or at least during the time being). So in this case, if I do the colored versions, cool. But if not, then I hope you'll forgive me and enjoy the work as it will appear. Also, I will be adding "(contemporary)" to the title of this fan art series since it will cover from the 1960s (when the 1st Astro Boy anime T.V. series, the 1st of the contemporary anime type, premiered) to the 2000s as opposed to all of history of anime from the late 1910s to 2000s

Anime Online Viewing Status of 09/01/2013

Soa far, I am at episode 22 of the edited-for-DVD cut of Space Battleship Yamato 2199, which means four more episodes to go. While await for the final four to appear online in a few months, I started watching Inu Yasha: The Final Actonline, and I'm at episode 4 of the series with twenty something more episodes to go. Shame that the first episode of this Inu Yasha series did not start with a recap of the first anime T.V. series', not even to just recall the major plot points. Additionally, started watching Goldorak - Le Robot de L'Espace (the French dub of UFO Robot Grendizer) online a few weeks earlier, and I'm at episode 15 with plans to catch the Télétoon Rétro broadcast of entire the anime series itself (which starts tomorrow), just in case no more Goldorak eps show up online as the series cosnists of 74 episodes.

News: Fan Expo Makes History With World Record Glory

Today, while visiting space.ca (the website of SPACE: The Imagination Station) for news on what went on at Fan Expo 2013, which took place this weekend, I found out that a cosplay gathering of people dressed up as Daleks durng the Saturday of the event itself had beaten the guiness world record held by that in Leicester, England in 2008 (which was 95 people) by consisting of 156 people. Therefore, Toronto, Ontario, Canada now holds the record of largest gathering of Dalek cosplayers. Will Doctor Who's country of origin have its shot in avenging its defeat by going higher in its gathering(s)? Who knows. Only time will tell.
