Change of Plans

Akira

“Tell me what I need to know!”

“You think I’m going to tell you, Mr. Black Eye? No thanks.”

“I swear to god, if you call me that again-”

“What, half Wolf? You going to make your claws grow again and have proper ears instead of a black and white one?”

My head whipped around when I heard a fist collide with the Xenogenesis Laboratory Scientist, Jack’s cheek. One minute, I don’t pay attention and Charlie loses his cool trying to get information out of Jack. I sighed and pounded on the glass screen to get Charlie’s attention. His head whipped to me with an angry face upon him. He had not been sleeping well lately, what with all of the things I have been making him change about the meeting room, and all of the surgeries he’s been doing on people. Christina was finally off sleeping, which didn’t help Charlie because he wanted to join her at the time I was going to interrogate Jack. Charlie decided to join me last second, which wasn’t helping his sanity.

I motioned for Charlie to get out of the room Jack was being held in-by which, he’s been held in for a while, so he had a bad, got some food every day and the usual stuff such as simple clothes, which he didn’t like- and Charlie gave me a look of, “I don’t want to.” I shook my head and motioned again for him to get out of the cell.

“Yeah, that’s right. Lose your pretty little temper to your sister. Besides, I want to talk to her more.” He licked his lips as his eyes moved to the glass and I shivered in disgust. Charlie struck him again for that, I not minding that, and left the room. Thank god that pervert could not seen behind that glass, even though he knew I was behind there. I drew the curtain across the glass so that nobody could look in as Jack did his own things in that room. Charlie left the room and soon was right beside me.

“I swear-” I held up my hand. I was tired, what with all the training I had been giving the past two weeks and how little sleep I’ve gotten. I had been on and off sick with stomach flu these past two weeks, and let’s just say, it did not want to go away. If I had to go and attack X.L. while I was sick, then I would, despite what I was feeling.

“Don’t. I’ll talk to him later, despite his disgusting intentions. Look at the items you got off him earlier, and just tell me if you find anything useful, okay? That’ll take five minutes and then you can go to sleep with Christina, okay?” I asked him and he pursed his lips and nodded. As I turned to the actual door to leave this small, enclosed room that led into Jack’s room, like an actual interrogation room, Charlie’s hand landed on my shoulder. I turned to him.

“You doing okay today?” Charlie asked, concerned. I shrugged.

“I’m okay. Just tired. I wish I was getting more sleep though,” I told him and he just nodded.

“I assume Griffin’s keeping you company?” Charlie asked with slight gritted teeth. I frowned.

“Yes, he is. He’s quite worried. I wish you would give him a chance, bro. You don’t know him,” I sighed and Charlie bit his lip.

“I don’t have to, to know he’s a scoundrel,” Charlie spat and I frowned.

“Sometimes I forgot you’re autistic. Sometimes I wish you were more, at least in talking sort,” I spat back at him and Charlie just frowned and bit his lip.

“Look, just get better, okay? Everyone’s counting on you.” I frowned.

“Thanks for the lovely, enlightening news. I’ll make sure to take it to heart... jackass,” I muttered underneath my breath as I left the room.

“Heard that!” Charlie called before I shut the door to the small room and came out to the open of the underground tunnels. Everyone was moving around and bustling about, keeping busy with training, fighting each other, helping my mother out, and making sure that everything was right down here. Ever since training started, people had been leaving the group, but even some people were joining. People were becoming more energetic and wanting to defeat the ones who wronged their lives. I couldn’t blame them. That was one of my sole goals right now. I was helping out the new members and oldest members as well, as was Griffin and Sebastian and even Karin. She was even up for wanting to defeat Xenogenesis Laboratories now. It was nice to see.

However, my stomach was just not wanting to like me today. My stomach had gotten smaller within the last two weeks, so I wasn’t able to eat much except just all the green foods. Salads, green beans, cabbage even, carrots, radishes, peppers, and even brussel sprouts was what I was able to eat. I couldn’t even stand the sight of meat or even the smell. It just seemed disgusting to me now.

I leaned against the wall and watched everyone scurry about when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned my head to see Solana and Ela. I turned to them as Solana spoke up.

“Akira, we were wondering, maybe after practice and dinner today, if you would like to... um...” Solana came out with and I raised my eyebrow in a bit of confusion and looked at Ela. Ela sighed.

“If you want to hang out with all of us ‘girls’. You know, sit around, do stuff together. We figure that we actually should know our leader instead of just following her every command and Karin thought that after dinner would be a great time for us to know you. You hang out with the boys enough, we thought that you would like to hang out with us,” Ela shrugged.

“Besides, Ela needs some girl advice on Sam,” a giggle came out from behind Ela and I saw Violette behind her. I smiled and Ela just spluttered out nonsense.

“No, I do not-”

“Yes, you do, Ela!” Violette giggled. She turned back to me. “All of the girls are going to be in room 251 after dinner if you want to join us,” Violette smiled and I smiled.

“Sure, I wouldn’t mind that at all,” I told her and they all smiled.

“Cool. See you then, Akira,” Ela stated and they went off, but Solana stayed. I pointed at her, remembering I had training with her today.

“I have training with you,” I stated and Solana nodded and I followed her to one of the many training rooms to find Emery and Griffin in it, training. Solana blushed brightly as she saw Emery and I raised my eyebrows. Was something going on between those two or was there something I was just completely missing? I guess I would find that out later.

I cleared my throat and Griffin turned his head as Emery threw a side kick to his side and kicked him backwards. Solana and I moved out of the way as he was flown this way on the floor. The only way he stopped was by hitting the wall beside me. He looked up at me as I held out a hand to help him up and he took it with a slight cough.

The training rooms were pretty simple. They were long rectangular where actual fights could happen, and they had sashimi mats for the flooring to move easier on them. It was actually quite nice in these rooms.

“Is there anyone stronger than Griffin? I’m afraid I’m probably exhausting him of all of his strength,” Emery laughed and I raised my eyebrows at Griffin.

“He is quite a good fighter, despite how he doesn’t like to train or even fight,” Griffin grunted as I helped him up. Emery just laughed slightly, either in nervousness or something else, I wasn’t sure.

“Well, the only other people that are stronger than Griffin is me or Charlie and Charlie’s busy at the moment and I’m training Solana at the moment-”

“What, you are stronger than Griffin? Seriously?” Emery stated and I nodded and Griffin turned to me with raised eyebrows.

“You are? Shall we test this? Just as long as you are feeling okay?” Griffin asked and I smiled and nodded and he smiled and as we took our positions, Emery rushed out of the room, called to people that we were fighting, and then soon enough, there was a crowd. I rolled my eyes.

I got in a ready position as soon as everyone was settled around the room to watch and Griffin got in a ready position as well. I advanced and threw out punches as Griffin dodged them. Griffin started to throw kicks and I did a couple of backflips. People started to cheer and make bets as I ran towards Griffin and threw a kick at him that almost hit him in the face, but he was able to dodge it just in time. That’s when he threw out a punch I didn’t expect and it hit me right in my stomach and then a side kick on my thigh. I winced in pain as I collapsed slightly and Griffin paused for a second, looking at me in question of if I was okay. I just grunted and slid myself underneath him and kicked him on his back. He flew forwards, tumbling over and over until he hit the wall. He stayed there for a while, as did I, and everyone figured that was the end of the fight. Everyone dispersed, claiming bets and losing their bets in the meantime, and headed off to dinner.

I clutched my stomach as it gave off a lot of pain, as did my thigh, and I closed my eyes in pain. I heard movement slightly from Griffin and soon felt his hands on my arms. I opened up my eyes to find him right in front of me.

“That punch was a nasty one,” I chuckled weakly and Griffin looked at me worriedly. He looked down at my hand clutching my stomach, removed it, and slightly pushed up my top to look at my stomach. I looked down and we both started to see some bruising.

“Akira, I am so sorry. I am very, very sorry-” I put my finger to Griffin’s lips and shook my head.

“It’s fine, Griffin. Really,” I told him as a sudden taste of breakfast in my mouth and I clapped my hand over my mouth just in case. I didn’t puke but I was nauseous in the least bit.

“Nauseous again? What did you have for breakfast?” Griffin asked and I eyed him.

“What you gave me. More meat, and less vegetable,” I told him and he frowned.

“You need your meat to stay healthy, Akira. What are you supposed to eat besides meat to make sure you stay healthy?” Griffin asked and I frowned.

“Tofu? I don’t know. Something along those lines anyways. Since we’re talking about food, I might as well go and try to eat,” I told Griffin and he just nodded with a sigh, helped me up, and then we walked together to the dining hall, where everyone was gathered and even leaving. Those leaving were Karin and Ela. Karin beamed as she passed us.

“See you in a bit, Akira!” Karin exclaimed and I smiled and nodded.

“I’ll be there in a bit,” I told her and Karin jumped up high-higher than I had ever seen her jump, which made me think she was training to jump higher- in happiness. We went on our way as they went on theirs. Griffin raised an eyebrow at me as we found an empty table.

“I’m hanging out with all of the girls after this. They want to get to know me,” I shrugged with a smile. “It’s nice,” I told him and Griffin smiled as he stood.

“That is very good. They want to know their leader. I shall go and get out food,” Griffin told me and I nodded with a smile as he left to go and get food. Hopefully, he wouldn’t try to make me eat meat again or something.

After a couple of minutes, Griffin came back with his usual meal and for me, a... burger with some macaroni salad on the side and celery and peanut butter. He had 7-UP for my drink.

“I found some sort of... tofu burger. Will this do?” Griffin asked and I nodded with a smile.

He placed the food down in front of me and then sat in front of me to eat his food after he placed it. I picked up the burger and sniffed it. It smelled fine to me... actually it smelled more than just fine, it smelled really good. I took a bite and I smiled about the taste and the flavor. Within minutes, I finished it. I slowly ate the macaroni salad and celery however, due to my stomach size and how I was getting full. After I finished, noticing that Griffin was finished and most people had left the dining room except Cyrus, Camilla, and a few other people, I got up and took my plate to a bucket where all of the dirty dishes went.

I cleaned up and just as I was about to leave, the cafeteria door slammed open and there was Charlie. He looked panicked but he was avoiding eye contact with me.

“Camilla, Cyrus, I need you. Now,” Charlie demanded with a serious face and immediately, Cyrus and Camilla got up and followed him out. It made me wonder what was going but it wasn’t my issue apparently. At least not yet, I suppose.

Griffin kissed me on my way out, as well as giving me a, ‘be careful,’ look, and I just smiled, kissed him back, and headed over to room 251 to where, when I opened the door, all the girls in the club turned their heads and smiled. I just nervously smiled as I looked around the room. It was big, that was for sure, and it was meant for big gatherings like this, like the meeting room, except this was more casual. All of the girls were sitting on pillows and bean bag chairs, talking and having coffee or hot chocolate. A bag of marshmallows was being passed around, and I smiled. It seemed really comfortable being in here with everyone. I found an empty pillow to sit on and Karin, who was across the room, smiled.

“Okay, so now that everyone is here, let’s get to know everyone better, especially Akira. You guys need to actually get to know her, because she’s our leader, okay? She also just wants to have some friends, guys,” Karin piped up and I just blinked and frowned.

“Thanks for telling my secrets, Karin,” I flatly told her and she just laughed and moved on.

“Well, let’s start asking questions and getting advice from each other!” Karin giggled and all heads and eyes turned to me. I just swallowed and looked all of the staring eyes nervously. I had no idea how to respond. It was obvious I spent too much time with boys, I suppose.

For a while, all of us talked and got to know each other. I learned some of the girl’s lives, learned what they loved, and it was nice for me to see them like this. It might’ve been nice for them to see me being a girl as well instead of “one of the guys.” I heard yelling going on outside the room from the guys and heard them rushing around but I paid no attention. It was nice to eat chocolate, discuss boys and sex, and everything else on the planet. Even our situation on living underground. I took everyone’s suggestions on what should be improved, what should be fixed, and what new tunnels should be added. As this went on, things outside seemed to get louder. Just as I was about to bother myself to address it, the door slammed open. Charlie was in the opening, looking panicked and worried.

“Akira, we have a problem.” I just blinked.

“Kind of busy. Can’t you take care of it yourself?” I asked him as I munched on a chocolate bar.

“You see... well... no. This is a really big issue. A super big issue that affects all of us. It’s X.L. They’re mounting an attack on the capital of the country.” Wait. Did he just say what I thought he said?

I immediately stood up with the chocolate bar in my mouth, and followed him to the meeting room. There, he had computers lined up against the walls, and televisions on all of the walls. There were bunk beds and medical supplies in the back corners of the room. The hatch sat above. Wow. He got everything done. I looked towards the gigantic television above the door. There was a page open, a document of some sort, with plans on it. It was like a blueprint. Everyone was importance was staring at the document and rushing around, trying to get last minute things done. Cyrus was over at a computer, as was Nodin’s father, and Griffin and Nodin were looking at the screen. Christina was rushing around, trying to get all the weapons we had out and finish up some preparations. Kiyoko was staying beside Cyrus, watching him work.

Looking at the document, it seemed like an attack plan, and it was set for... wait, it was set for three days from now. Three days?! Shit. I chewed on the chocolate as I stared at the plan. It was a plan to attack Washington D.C., that much was for certain, but it was set to attack us first before they attacked D.C. They knew we were alive, simply because they knew what Charlie would do, which was take out the chips and destroy them. They however, summarized that we were still at the mansion, or at least, something makeshift from it. They didn’t know we were underground. They were to attack with their new army of super soldiers, more or less, just the people and children they experimented on like us. Erased their memories, and made them think like them. We had to get to them now before they got to us.

I turned to Nodin and Samael, and saw Nodin looking at me.

“Nodin, Samael, go and get ready,” I told them and Samael looked at me, and then Charlie, who just nodded to him, and both him and Nodin went and got ready with the plan I came up with a few days ago. I looked over towards Sebastian, who was just entering the room with a couple of weapons.

“Seb, were you able to get all of the new members up and running? Caught them up and trained them?” I asked him and Sebastian just nodded as he went over to Griffin.

I turned around and walked over to the table in the middle of the room that had all of the weapons on it. There were guns, claw enhancers, listening devices, walkie talkies, and everything else you could pretty much think of.

“Cyrus, you weren’t able to get those speed enhancers working?” I asked and Cyrus turned his head, briefly for a moment.

“No.” He turned back to the computer and continued to, what seemed to be, hack into the X.L. computers. Charlie seemed to be searching through documents he already obtained from hacking it all.

“Charlie, make a broadcast on the X.L in about ten minutes, telling all personnel to meet in their meeting room,” I told him briskly and Charlie just nodded, sat down, put on some headphones, got a microphone near him as I turned to Griffin.

“Griffin, please go and get everyone gathered. I’ll need them in this room in fifteen,” I told him and Griffin nodded and left the room. I grabbed a gun, a simple pistol off of the weapons table, and as I walked to the entrance to the room, Charlie eyed me slightly.

“Just going to go and have a talk with our visitor,” I blankly said and Charlie narrowed his eyes.

“Are we going to need a mop?” Charlie asked and I bit my lip.

“Probably,” I told him. Charlie looked over at Christina, spoke something quickly in German, and Christina walked over to me.

“I’ll follow you, just in case,” Christina told me and I nodded. We both left the room with Charlie yelling,” Don’t make too much of a mess, okay?” I smiled slightly as we entered the interrogation room and I opened up the door into Jack’s room. He was sitting on his bed, like usual, food on the table, not eaten. He smiled as I entered the room.

“Ah, the fearless leader of the MCC. It seems Charlie finally was able to convince you to come in here. To what do I owe the pleasure of your appearance?” Jack smiled and I frowned and leveled the gun with his eye level, pointing it straight at him.

“Tell me what you know, Jack,” I spat at him and Jack just laughed. I took the safety off and clicked the bullet into place. Jack then frowned.

“Make serious threats now, are you? I wonder what your boyfriend will say to that,” Jack frowned and I didn’t move a muscle. “Will you be able to pull the trigger? Will that be hard for you?” Jack asked.

“No,” I coldly said and he smirked.

“Even when I was never your scientist? After all, it was Hiraku and his twin that tortured you and the little bunny. Not me. Never touched a pretty hair on your head,” Jack smiled. “Though, I do admire you. Hiraku made you beautiful. Shame it’ll all come to an end soon.” I now smirked.

“We know X.L.’s plans, Jack. The attack on us and D.C. in three days? We know all of the details. So tell me, what are they planning to do?” I demanded.

“Geez, you don’t know how to relax do you, wolf? What, you not feeling well?” I didn’t ask as I sniffed the air. Jeez, it made me want to puke. “Sick with the stomach flu? Or is it something else? Like an infectious bug or parasite?” Jack smiled cynically and I walked up to him and put my gun to his temple. His eyes just looked me over. “Oh, I bet I know what it is now. It’s a parasite, isn’t it? It must be lovely.” I was itching to pull the trigger, but all I did was frown.

“Jack,” I spat and he sighed.

“Fine, fine, pretty wolf. Yes, we are going to attack in three days on D.C., and you all as well. We plan to take over. Take over the government, subject the population to experiments, and sell them to the world for their own personal army, and then we attack them and destroy them in the end. That’s all of it in its simplicity. We have the resources as well. A powerful army to dethrone the government and then we take over in its stead. Simple, no?” Jack smiled and I just frowned.

“What else?” I asked and he just frowned.

“You just want to know everything, don’t you?” He asked and I didn’t respond.

“Besides the fact that we were going to take over, we were going to attack you and your little club. Yes, we were going to implant new chips into your brains, erase all of your memories, and make you our slaves, whether it be for war or pleasure. Disturbing, maybe, but it’s what was planned by our leader. If you try to kill us all, you’ll regret it, because one day, you’ll need us. You’ll need our help with something unknown, and we won’t be there for you. We have our secret societies and hiding places. You can bet that we’ll stay there,” Jack smiled and it seemed that that was it. There was nothing more.

“Is that all?” He motioned for me to lean in and reluctantly, I did. He whispered something in my ear, and I paused. That... couldn’t be true. No. It couldn’t be. I straightened myself up and all he did was smile. “Love that tidbit of information? I did. The look on your face-” I pulled the trigger. I didn’t want to hear his insane rambling anymore. The shot rang out as the blood ran down his face. He was dead. I didn’t particularly like the idea of killing, but these men... they were horrible, people. They wanted to take over the government, make us their experiments. Just... no.

I reset the gun, the shell falling out, and I slipped the gun into my pocket after putting the safety back on. I left the room, Christina sighing as she went into the room to start to clean it all up, and I left the room to find the hallways empty, but the meeting room bursting full with people. I saw Nodin and Samael waiting for me, clothed in black lab coats with hats and masks on. I just nodded to them, and they left to go and infiltrate X.L.. That was the plan for them after all. Dress up like them, make sure they didn’t recognize you, have fake I.D.s, have walkie talkies turned off, and make sure Nodin’s poisonous gas system was set up so that by the time we got there, he could make everyone pass out. Samael was going to fix their system to where we could get it to work properly, but knowing some scientists like Hiraku and Alkako, they would be wearing gas masks when we got there in preparation for something like this happening.

I moved through the gigantic crowd of creatures and moved to where I was standing in front of them. I got on top of the weapon table after clearing an area off for me, and yelled for everyone to quiet down. I told them the situation of what was going on and that instead of attacking in two weeks, we were going to attack in two days, and that at the moment, we were going to give X.L. a chance to stop what they're doing and surrender. Some seemed skeptical of that idea, but I was going to go through with it anyways.

I looked over to Charlie, who nodded to me. I faced the television, which had a video camera in it, and so did everyone else. Charlie brought all of the cameras up on one of the televisions on the walls that showed us where everyone was, what consisted and each one, and what everyone was doing inside of X.L. He had hacked the security cameras. The television turned on and there was their meeting room, where all the scientists had gathered, and all eyes went to their television on their side. Their mouths gaped as their eyes widened.

“Hey guys!” I waved my hands and Hiraku just stepped forward.

“What the-” I held a finger and he paused.

“We all came here to give you all a warning. That we are coming for you, despite the beliefs of us to be dead or alive, and despite the fact that you were coming to attack us. We are coming for you, and that you should all be ready, that is unless, you want to surrender and just stop this whole charade with trying to take over the country and then the world,” I told them and some of them laughed.

“And what would make us so keen on surrendering to you?” Hiraku asked and I smiled.

“You boys and girls seem to forget, you made us. Despite what we’ve fixed, we’re all stronger and much, much more filled with revenge and anger.” The smiles and laughter that was once there, disappeared.

“We would never surrender to the likes of you creatures.” A new voice and body entered the premise and I had to guess, it was the leader of the X.L., Sam’s father.

“Oh?” I questioned and he smiled.

“We have a trick up our sleeve that you are not aware of,” He smiled and I frowned.

“You’re bluffing,” I spat and his smile wavered. He was bluffing. I smirked. “If you aren’t going to surrender, then you surrender yourselves to death and the taste of our claws.” Charlie then turned off the camera and the television. I looked at everyone and clapped my hands.

“Let’s get going people! In two days, we fight!”

---------------
Oh? They all attack in two days (in the story at least)? Yep! Thought this would be a good way to get this place going again and try to keep it alive! Come on people, let's post!! :D
