*E3* [Square Enix]

Hey!

I would've watched the live stream of E3 they were hosting on GameStop, but I completely forgot about it D:. One year, I hope to go to E3.

Anyways, this year there were lots of announcements from three of the biggest gaming companies, Nintendo (a sequel to "A Link to the Past" is coming :D! In November!), Square Enix and Sony. I was pleased to see many games in GameInformer's August issue! I haven't finished reading my issue yet, but I did glance through a lot of it. That's besides the point though! I'm posting to talk about Square Enix, one of the biggest teasers in the gaming world...darn them :D!

First off: I read that good ol' Square is planning on KH3 finally! After seven whole years of nothing but back and side stories, we've finally got a good word about a definite sequel. I wonder if this will be the last in the series...

Final Fantasy XIII-3: Lightning Returns has a release date! It's February 11th. It's a long time to wait, but that at least gives me some time to prepare for what the preorder's likely going to be costing me (I'm such a dork with those :/).

I found a video on the demo showed at E3:

So, for people who played the previous games...it looks kind of different, ne? I don't know, maybe it's the camera that makes the environment look like the game's running on a different engine than the others(I believe the engine was called Novia Crystallis...something like that)? If anyone follows FFXIII-3, then you know that the Paradigm shifts have been changed to "Schemata" for this game. In short, based on the demo, it seems like FFXIII's battle system mixed with FFX-2's dress-sphere system (except you can switch in battle, it looks like- thank the heavens).
I do like the the blending of the ATB system with a command-style system...I mean, where the attacks are laid out versus choosing them from a menu...faintly reminiscent of KH's command system from 385/2 Days, Coded and BBS. I will miss FFXIII's original system, though TT^TT...it reminded me of FFXII's system (one of the best battle systems I've played with!). From the demo, it also looks like Lightning will spend a lot of time fighting alone...of course, this is just from the demo. I prefer this way, though it can be kind of annoying when you have to heal.

I'm on the fence about Hope giving the player advice or whatever...he kind of got on my nerves in FFXIII, and was just a smidge better in FFXIII-2. I wonder why Lightning's after Snow, though? What has he done now? Poor Snow, everyone's always harping on you...

BUT THE REAL REASON I WANTED TO POST IS BECAUSE OF... FINAL FANTASY XIII-VERSUS!

Noctis and some guy we don't know the name of yet.

Final Fantasy XV's E3 Trailer

It's finally been officially announced as Final Fantasy XV!! When I read this, I literally shouted "FINALLY!!". I'd heard (well, read...) some rumors about this happening, but reading the official announcement was...the most amazing feeling. It's been a long, tiring road getting here, Versus. And it's been waaaay too long, Noctis. Square also says it'll be exclusive to the sparkly new PS4 and Xbox One...like we didn't see that coming.

It doesn't have a release date D:, but the point is Square stopped being so darn cryptic and mysterious about this title. The trailer is impressive, but that's expected. Ah, the engine is Fabula Novis Crystallis...and the graphics have certainly come a ways since FFXIII.

Ah...I'm so happy :).
